Happy & Spacious Home at Garran

The hosts were very helpful, however the property would be great in winter with all the heaters, but no air conditioning made for very hot days and nights. It's quite run down, there were only two desert spoons and one tea towel which smelt. Some tidying in the garden would improve as it's a lovely property in a great location, very spacious, however the stairs are a death trap and this wasn't mentioned in the description. The proximity to the hospital makes it a great location for people needing to spend time there.

The size of the house was great. Heating options were good. The actual house was tidy but very run down and dirty. There was dust behind the doors and dust and rubbish just swept under the bed in main room. There was hair and dust in corners of the bathroom. The fans were covered in dust. The staircase is a hazard and should be removed and redone. My daughter fell down then. Fortunately caught herself. The yard was unusable as it was very overgrown and weedy. The kids could not use the grassed area as there was dog Pooh everywhere, obviously from a past renter. My daughter actually stepped in some. Very obviously not maintained at all.

Don’t bother Positive: Some of the heaters worked Negative: The property was not only dangerous but absolutely filthy. After traveling 10 hours I had to go buy towels, pillows, blankets, dish sponges and spoons. The “pet friendly” yard is overgrown, unsafe for children and full of dog poo. The tv is snapped off the stand and just propped up in place. Toilet door handle fell off in my hand within 3 minutes of arrival. Host unresponsive for 3 weeks leading up to check in despite paying in full up front at booking time and multiple attempts to contact. When they finally answered I asked about the check in time request id sent, was told id have to wait for the email that was due to be sent in a few hours. Bins overflowing on arrival- no room for any of our rubbish at all. Hole in the Lounge room floor for the chimney that my 1 year of would have fallen down had I not barricaded it.

Ideal for our purposes, near the hospital. Positive: The house is comfortable and happy. Nice comfortable bed. Clean bathroom and kitchen. Negative: It’s a bit scruffy. The garden is a bit too overgrown and the house could do a spring dust and vacuum. The TV is a mystery. No ABC or SBS.
